So it was another day in Palamós, and finally the rain cleared off and gave us a proper sunny one. We’d had a hard week of work, so we took the slow start we’d earned, then headed down for a snorkel. We’d already planned a night out, so afterwards we came back and I had a shameless snooze, still tired from the week.
We ate at home before heading out, which we regretted almost straight away. Tapas would have been the better shout, but we were in save-a-bit-of-money mode and told ourselves the beers later would make up for it.
Out about nine, and for once we left the motorhome behind. We ended up in a couple of local bars whose names I’ve completely lost, an Irish pub, then a smaller place across the road. I got chatting to an Irish fella about what it’s actually like to live in Palamós, and then to a bloke who reckoned he’d been here fifty-odd years. Really friendly, gave us the proper lowdown on the place. We finished up at a tiny bar tucked into the edge of the old town, near the waterfront.

We rolled home about half twelve, a bit toast. It was just a really good night, and not a pricey one either. One of my beers was €2.90 for 400ml, and CiCi worked through a few wines, so it was a late one and Sunday was always going to be a slow start.

Good day all round in Palamós. And not a single laptop was opened.
