We were meant to be leaving Palamós today, but last night, a couple of drinks in and learning more about the place, we decided to stay on until Tuesday instead. No great reason beyond not being ready to go, which is exactly the kind of call we get to make now. There’s also the small matter of the motorhome being booked into a workshop on Thursday to look at what might be a blown 80-amp fuse on the HPC hydraulic levelling system, so a couple more slow days here suit us fine.
After a 1am finish, the morning was never going to be quick. Once we’d surfaced we headed down for a snorkel at the little bay right under the campsite. The mask de-fog spray we’d bought made a world of difference, no more fogging up every two minutes. The water was clear, plenty of fish about, and while it’s no coral reef, getting in the sea is always worth it. We floated around for half an hour or so, then came back up for lunch.
We’d done a bit of walking earlier too, so by the time we got back the awning had quietly turned into a drying room, washing and swim kit hung across every inch of it. We’d half planned to head back down for another swim, but ended up staying up at the motorhome instead, reading our books. Which sounds like nothing, except I’m not sure I’ve ever really just sat and read like that before. Second day running with the laptop shut.

The evening was crying out for a barbecue, but we’ve got food to use up first, so it’ll be a quiet one. Maybe a bit of work on Monday, then Tuesday we push a little further south to get closer to Barcelona for the workshop on Thursday morning. Managed to grab a fresh baguette from the campsite store on the way back from the snorkel, so no complaints at all.
